Appearance

Slovakian Rough Haired Pointers are usually grey or sable in colour and can be roan. White markings are allowed on the chest and feet. They are double coated with a short to medium length coarse outer coat and a soft under coat.

Appearance and characteristics

The head is long and lean, with a large dark nose. Their enchanting eyes are almond shaped and amber in colour when mature but can be blue when juveniles. They have long smooth ears, set just above eye level. They have a moderate neck, well laid shoulders and a long level back. The ribs are well sprung and flanks moderately tucked up. Their legs are strong with well arched feet and dark pads and nails.

In height they are of medium size, up to 25″ for bitchs and 27″ for dogs. Slovaks are a robust build and moderately strong.
